d100 Recipes: Savoury and Sweet Roly Poly

They say that simple is best, and what can be more simple than the good old roly poly? It’s tasty, filling, versatile and very easy to make. We love it so much that we are giving you two roly poly recipes today, a sweet and a savoury one. And what’s more is that they both use the same base dough, so once you get that mastered then the world is your roly poly oyster.

  • Beat 2 of the eggs and add them in, mixing well
  • Add the milk in a splash at a time while mixing to form a firm but not sticky dough.
  • Roll the dough out thinly and cover with your savoury filling.

  • Roll the dough up like a Swiss-roll and put on the baking tray
  • Beat the remaining egg and give the roly poly a good egg wash.
