Enforcer 0.3 update

Enforcer is now at Version 0.3!

Since the last update came out, we’ve been busy little beavers, so there’s quite a bit in this update for you.

Art

Look at those lovely new pieces made by the awesome Pat Callahan. The first three of the exemplar characters have received their art, and this is only the first step. All the money that comes in from Enforcer’s Early Access will go straight towards putting in as much art into the book as humanly possible, so expect to see much more art in future updates!

Augments

Sometimes the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. For those times, that’s when you need some cybernetic augmentation, and that’s exactly what we brought in this update. Augments work just like Perks in the game, but instead of having to wait to get them through experience, you can just buy them. Upgrade your Enforcers to make them more than they were, but becoming a machine comes with its own risks.

Extra Psionic Powers

You know what’s great? Psionic powers. You know what’s better? More psionic powers.

Psionic Feedback

We’ve expanded the psionic feedback table to give you 25 frightening things that can happen if you are unlucky when rolling a Psionic Check. These feedback options are also more flavourful than just giving character a status effect.

Minion Squads

Minions are wonderful and adorable little things, and we’ve now put them together into their own little groups. If you are in need of some quick opposition in your games, you can now grab a premade Minion Squad from the list and go to town.

Costs

It’s the eternal balancing act, making sure everything is costed properly, and to that end we’ve changed how all the things in Enforcer is costed.

Enforcer is still in Early Access. This means that everything you need to play Enforcer is here, but it is not 100% finished. The main reason for the Early Access is to get funding for the art. Every dollar you spend on Enforcer is a dollar we give to an artist to make Enforcer look better. While the art is being worked on, we’ll keep polishing up the rules and increasing the lore. Everyone who gets Enforcer in the Early Access stage will get the full digital release for free, and we will also give you the final printed version at cost price.

Enforcer 0.2 update

Enforcer is now at Version 0.2!

We’ve done a fair amount in this update, and given you a more tools to play around with in the game.

Example Characters

First up, we’ve made some pre-made, exemplar characters that shows off how you can make a custom character in Enforcer. Each of the 9 Archetypes now has a custom, named character to show you how it’s done. Each of the example characters have full stats, perks, equipment as well as a short background blurb to give the characters… well character.

Minion List

Exactly what it says on the tin. We’ve made a short list of Minion stats with perks and equipment, so if you want to grab a Minion quickly, this is for you. In this list we’ve also included 5 mechanical minions as well if you like your Minions to not talk back to you

Archetype Perks

In order to differentiate the Archetypes some more, we’ve given each Archetype their own unique Perk that only they get. So all Enforcers, for example, now come with the Pre-Prepared Perk that prevents them from being ambushed.

Prayers

The Perk we gave to the Faithful Archetypes characters was the ability to use the Pray Action. They pray to God and if their faith (and Will Stat) is good enough, the Almighty will answer their prayers. The Pray action is a support/buffing action that only the faithful can use. There are 4 different types of prayers currently, but we want to add in some more, so if you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them.

Bounty Hunting

You need Requisition Points to buy anything, and we’ve given you another way to get it. Other than increasing the amount of REQ you get at the end of a scenario from 1 to 1d10, we’ve also added in the Bounty system, so you can capture rebels, heretics, witches and even demons if you’re brave enough and sell them off to the Empire for a reward.

Tweaks

As always we like to tweak things to make sure they look right, and we’ve made some minor modifications to some equipment (armours particularly), so have a good look to make sure your stats line up with the new stuff.

Next up on the chopping block will be getting stuck into the campaign tools, to turn each individual scenario into a grander tale.

Enforcer out now!

Enforcer, our INQ28 game, is now available in Early Access on DriveThruRPG! Click the banner above to get your hands on it right now!

Enforcer is a miniature based narrative-wargame, or a war-roleplaying-game, in the style of the INQ28 games. It takes the best of wargaming and RPGs to create an experience of the early skirmish era miniature RPGs. Enforcer is as much about player skill as it is about character skill. Your characters and the dice will tell you if they succeed or fail at any given action, but it is about how your use your characters, about how you strategize and use your tactical skill that will determine if you win or lose any scenario.

Enforcer is a physical tabletop game meant for 28mm models. It uses a simple d100 system that keeps the game flowing and the action front and centre. The dice aren’t the be-all and end-all of Enforcer, however, and your strategies in playing the game will determine your success or failure. Each character is a mixture of stats, traits, weapons, armours and items, giving you the flexibility to kit out your character and your team to meet the demands of the mission. Enforcer is a lethal game, so make sure they are kitted out well or they won’t survive for very long. Those that survive will be better off for it, and by the end of a campaign you will have a hardy bunch of soldiers ready to take on anything.

Enforcer in progress

ENFORCER, our INQ28 game is coming along stunningly. We’re already getting it on InDesign and getting the layout sorted, and we are busy getting the cover art done.

So expect to see ENFORCER out soon on DriveThruRPG very soon alongside our other projects. In the mean time, if you want to see how the draft rules for ENFORCER looks like, come join our Discord server and have a look.

Enforcer, an INQ28 game

In the early 2000s, I loved playing Inquisitor, a miniature based RPG for Warhammer 40k. Before I ever knew what D&D, Shadowrun, GURPS or any other RPG was, my friends and I were spending our weekends playing one.

Now, with a rise of interest in INQ28 games, I’ve been drawn back to my love for the mini-based RPGs, and have decided to make one of my own.

As the title of this post shows, the game will be called Enforcer and its setting will be a dystopian, cyberpunk earth in the far future. The rules will take heavy inspiration from the old Inquisitor game, but use 28mm scale and be based on centimetres rather than inches (because we all love the metric system, don’t we?).

I’m making the rules as accessible and intuitive as possible, so it’s quick and easy to learn, and you spend more time working on your strategy and tactics in the game, rather than what rule goes where. The fun of mini-based RPGs is about the game itself, how and where the models are, what can be done and how to do it. I will really emphasise this part, and make you as the player just as important in how the game goes, as the character you play. Player skill is really an important factor here.

When and where is it coming out?

A large chunk of Enforcer’s rules are already done, so the “when” is very soon. We’ll also be taking a different track with Enforcer than we have with previous games, and will be releasing it as an Early Access game. So once the rules are in a playable state, we will put it up on DriveThruRPG. The early access phase of the game will work as an open beta where we can collect feedback from anyone playing the game, and improve it as we build it.

Every dollar that Enforcer makes during the early access phase will go towards the art that will litter the book, so that when the full release comes out, it will look absolutely gorgeous. Also, everyone that buys the game during its early access phase will be able to get the hardcover version at cost-price.

We’re already working on the cover art, so expect to be able to get your hands on it real soon. In the mean time, we are already talking about it on our Discord server, so if you’re keen, come on by and find out more about Enforcer.
